Etiko

Etiko, the manufacturers and distributors of Australia's first fair trade certified sports balls, have been prize partners to the program since 2006.

The Etiko brand has been created for the conscious consumer who realises that their spending has an impact not just on their wallets but also on the environment and fellow humans around the world. All Etiko products are certified Fairtrade, Certified Sweatshop Free or Worker/Farmer Owned Cooperatives.

In addition to distributing  fantastic fair trade sporting equipment, Etiko are taking the whole idea of ethical production to yet another level with the recent introduction of their fair trade sneakers and a range of shirts made be a worker cooperative in Argentena.

As part of their sustainability efforts, Etiko worked in partnership with Global Education Centre to develop educational material for teachers interested in educating children about the importance of fair trade. The education kit includes a DVD examining issues such as how a sports ball can be Fairtrade and examining how the Fairtrade concept as a whole gives a positive approach to how individuals can take action.
