Griffith University
The first Sustainable Living Challenge state partner!
In May 2006, Griffith University became the first Sustainable Living Challenge state partner or 'node'. The team at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences are supporting Queensland schools to take up the Sustainable Living Challenge. The Port of Brisbane Corporation is the proud sponsor of the Sustainable Living Challenge in Queensland.
The Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Griffith University is
the largest group of environmental professionals in any university in Australia,
and amongst the largest in the world. It is a world leader in the training of
environmental professionals and related natural and social science
research.
The environmental sciences programme at Griffith University is unique because it is inter-disciplinary in nature. This means that it combines
and integrates study of the many traditional subject areas required for
understanding and solving environmental problems.
Griffith is an innovative university committed to multidisciplinary teaching and research, and the creation
and communication of knowledge. It has five campuses in three cities across the Brisbane-Gold Coast corridor.
With more than 33000 students and 3500 staff, it is one of Queensland's largest
universities.
Courses in environmental science and management are taught in
the Faculty's four departments or "schools" located in Brisbane and the Gold
Coast.
